Our Story

our nine year journey to the altar

We met in the fall of 2012, October 9th to be exact. The set up was a freshman coke date between our fraternities, the activity was pumpkin carving. Despite my perfectly drawn bat outline for him to follow, Drew's chef knife failed him and left us with the disproportionate heart you can see behind our friend Abbie's head. I agreed to a real date anyway. We bet ice cream over whose greek house won the homecoming competition that year, and Drew has been buying me ice cream ever since.
The next seven years were full of wonderful adventures, and hard ones. We traveled the world together, survived six moves across five cities in four years, and encouraged each other through our degrees. Through it all we've maintained a fierce friendship that feeds our desire to be together. We've fought every battle side by side, and he's kept me laughing the whole way.
On October 18th, 2019, back where it all began, Drew gave me the biggest surprise of my life. Well, as surprised as you can be after seven years of dating. At the same competition that decided our first date, surrounded by our closest friends and family, with a pumpkin finally carved like a bat he proposed. We had no idea then what the next two and a half years would bring, but we've weathered it all together. We can't wait to see you in April and celebrate the beginning of our next big adventure.

All our love,
Madi & Drew
